Surprises!!!

Usually surprises are good things and I love them!! Like when I've had a bad day and come home to a bouquet of flowers from Dan or when I paid off my car and closed the account and had an extra $300 dollars in there! Or when you put on your winter coat for the first time that year and find a twenty dollar bill.
Sometimes there are bad surprises and I tend to not like those so much, today's bad surprise: Waking up to a big, hairy, black spider crawling across my chest! AHHHHHHHHH!!! Yes, I screamed and freaked out and tore all of my clothes off and in the process, thankfully killed the stupid thing.
Ug, I hate spiders!

Almost a Month

So it has almost been a month that we have had our little angel here with us. We have had a lot of fun getting to know her and taking care of her. Lindz has been a trooper with getting up all through the night so I could get the sleep I need to work. Aside from that we just can't get enough of how cute she is. Here are some pictures that I wanted to share with everyone.

This is Olivia with her cousin Little Bruce, who is about four months older than she is.

This is often the position that we have to use to get her to go to sleep, I think it is so funny that she is so small and how she latches onto my shirt.

I just thought that this picture was so cute, the face she is pulling just makes me laugh.

She has the cutest little smile, she smiles most often just as she is falling asleep.

She loves to have her little hands in her face. She always finds a way to get them out of the blankets so she can have them in her face.

She just looked so cute sitting here holding her binki in her mouth, like I said she loves to put her hands in her face.

This is what she wore Halloween Morning. She was talking a lot that morning as we were getting ready to go get some stuff from grandma and grandpa's house.

I had to include this picture. This is the first time that Uncle Mike held Olivia. He doesn't do babies. They have to be able to move around and play for him to be comfortable with them. He says that he is afraid that he will break them cause they are so small or that he will drop them and make them retarded.

How can you not love someone this little and cute. We don't know and we don't care to know because we love her so much, she is our little bundle of Joy and we want to keep it that way!!!!

I admit...

I am listening to Christmas music right now! I know, way too early but I opened Itunes and it was just there asking to be listened to. I don't really know why, it's like 70 degrees outside and not Christmasy at all - anyway, gotta love those Tender Tennessee Christmases!! ;) Thanks Alabama!

Baby Olivia

Well we made it. We got through the pregnancy, well I should say that Lindz made it through the pregnancy I was just the coach from the sideline. Baby Olivia came to us on October 14 at 3:26 weighing in at 6 LBS and 1 Oz. measuring at 19 Inches. She is Beautiful and we love her so much.

Here she is with her flowers that Grandpa Fairbanks brought to her for being born. It is his little tradition to welcome his granddaughters to the world.

She also plays the part of a Pirate very well. Arrrr!

She is our little Angel and we are so happy to finally have her here with us.

Most Embarrassing Moment

As I came out of the doctor's office today there was the Channel 4 News team and they asked me to answer a few questions about getting the flu vaccine. I REALLY didn't want to, but I didn't know what to say so of course they roped me into it and I'm thinking to myself "Look at me, I'm like 9 months pregnant. Do you think I want to be on your stupid camera?" Anyway, I don't think I even smiled the whole time that the camera was rolling. I wasn't too worried though because we don't watch channel 4, but of course Dan had it on tonight to see if I was on there and you bet I was. I was wearing a white shirt and looked even more like the stay-puff marshmellow man. I would give you the link to the video, but I can't find it and I don't want you to see it anyway. Okay, so maybe it isn't the most embarrassing moment of my life but it is definitely in the top 5. If you do see the video, keep in mind that the camera adds 10 pounds and in my case, 45!! :)
P.S. Like 5 seconds after it aired my sister-in-law texted saying that they saw me - they never watch channel 4, how embarrassing!

Dreams

So they say that when you are pregnant you have crazy dreams, right? Well I always have had very vivid and interesting dreams, so nothing new for me, but can it rub off on your husband? The other night around say 12:30 I wake up to Dan calling his parent's dog, it went something like this:
Dan: "Mickey! Mickey! Come here Mickey! You stupid dog, come here!"
Then he sits up in bed and grabs my leg like it is the dog.
So I put my hand on his back and say: "Dan, wake up!"
Dan: "I'm awake! Screw the stupid dog!"
Then he lays back down and goes to sleep while I laugh my head off for about 5 minutes. Greatest part is that in the morning he had ZERO recollection of what happened! I love dreams and sleep-talkers!!!

Quote of the Day

Since I don't have small children that say funny things yet I thought I'd share a quote from a punk a** student.
Me: ______(student's name) take your headphones out (about the 5th time I'd asked).
Student: What? Are you kidding me? Why?
Me: Because that is the classroom rule, No Headphones.
Student: But they help me concentrate on my work.
Me: I'm sorry, take them out.
Student (under his breath, but I could still hear): Good teachers let their students do whatever they want.
Me (almost laughing my head off and wanting to kill the kid): Ya, and those students are in prison.
